The Cambridge Romanian Society (CRS) is the official society for Romanian students at the University of Cambridge. Founded on November 25, 2007 and registered with the University senate on March 3, 2008, the society aims at raising awareness of Romania and promoting Romanian culture: thematic parties, concerts, poetry readings, formal halls, garden parties, talks and films, and even language courses. We are also involved in campaigns aimed at promoting Romanian values in the United Kingdom. Our involvement has been recognised by the Romanian Embassy in London, which awarded the society the “Student Society Distinction” prize in 2015.
We do big things
We love to put up amazing events and we work tirelessly to make sure we cater to the wishes of as many people as possible. Our diverse lineups include Formal Halls, talks, games nights, movie nights, parties, poetry readings as well as swaps with other cultural societies. We also run a strong access program aimed at Romanian high school students and a newly established welfare system.
